The recruitment process

Assessment and Application

The first step of our recruitment process is the assessment stage where prospective candidates are assessed on their written English. If a candidate is deemed suitable after the assessment, they will be given an application form to fill in the office.

Interview

At the interview stage your suitability for this role will be determined. The interview itself is semi-formal and not at all daunting. You will have enough time to ask questions and to find out more about the company and job role.

DBS Application

If your interview is successful the next stage will be to apply for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Employment will depend on a satisfactory outcome of this check.

Training

Once your DBS application has been submitted, you will be invited to an intensive 3 day training were you will be introduced to the principles of home care amongst other training.

Shadowing

Progression to this stage is dependent on the outcome of the DBS check. If the disclosure is unsatisfactory you can't progress with the application and we will have to end the process there.

At this stage you will shadow one or more of our care workers for 3 days to observe first hand the Care At Home way of working. During this time you will build your confidence by putting the theory you have learnt from training into practise and getting instant feedback.

Contract

Once you've successfully completed shadowing you will sign a contract of employment and become a fully fledged member of our team.
